TECHNOgames: pupils to pupils

The main idea of ​​the project named TECHNOgames is to bring the technical and expert fields closer to the pupils of the region in an enjoyable and entertaining form.

DAY FULL OF GAMES AND COGNITION

All-day events for elementary school pupils are held to take up with the participating schools’ fields of education. During the morning, students will undertake various tasks from a wide range of disciplines. In rotations, they will gradually visit six special workplaces, where they perform partial activities in smaller groups. At the end of the course, they have to complete a defined competitive task, evaluated by the training teachers. For example, a great response among pupils has been risen by the possibility of working with robots during this year’s round held in Pardubice.

During the afternoon, the employers and partners of the secondary schools are given space to present company’s production program, qualification requirements for employees, benefits offered to students (company scholarships, possibilities of practices), etc.

The day culminates with the final competition – a special quiz that examines what knowledge pupils of primary schools have taken from the day and what they memorized. The quiz consists of two parts – the first part has questions, a model of the TV contest Riskuj! Followed by uncovering numerically encoded images – TV contest Kufr.

Added Value of the Technogames

Fields of study are presented by pupils to other pupils, under the supervision of teachers, and by a secondary schoolers to a nine graders. This helps with the elimination of the shyness, and primary school pupils are more involved in activities and questioning. It is undoubtedly tempting to win a big fruit cakes for the most successful team of the final competition too. Exhibits from the individual events can be viewed online on the web, facebook or youtube, including photos and videos.

Finally, a couple of the numbers

So far, 101 primary schools have participated at TECHNOgames – 95 from town of Pardubice, 3 from town of Olomouc, 1 from town of Hradec Králové and 1 from Central Bohemia and 1 from the Polish town of Miedzylesie. A total of the 64 educational fields were presented as part of the event.
