The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is responsible for the implementation of the Digital Education Strategy until 2020, which was approved by the Czech government in November 2014. At its meeting on 17 May 2021, the Government discussed the overall evaluation of the Strategy (more information here). The strategy sought to respond to the continuous development of digital technologies and envisaged the gradual involvement of modern technologies in teaching. The Strategy included 23 measures and 42 activities to contribute to the fulfillment of the three set priority objectives:

  • Open education to new methods and ways of learning through digital technologies,
  • Improve pupils’ skills in information and digital technology,
  • Develop pupils’ informational thinking.

In the framework of DigiKoalice (The Czech National Coalition for Digital Jobs), the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports committed itself to the Development of digital literacy and computational thinking of pupils and teachers of kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools.
The team responsible for implementing the Strategy can be contacted at

Currently, the topic of digital education is addressed in the Czech Education Policy Strategy 2030+, specifically in Chapter 1.4 and follow-up activities within the implementation cards. At the same time, investments in digital education are now envisaged both in the Recovery and Resilience Facility and in the preparation of the new Operational Programme Jan Amos Komenský.
